One question I get asked repeatedly is how did my fitness journey begin? My answer, I started small, and over time exercise became a daily need. Accepting that fitness is not a one-time event, but a way to life is the most important first step when beginning a fitness journey.
To give you some inspiration, I suggest watching Brittany Runs A Marathon starring Jillian Bell; a woman who is told by her doctor her lifestyle needs to change to get her weight, blood pressure, and body mass in control. The movie takes you on Brittany’s journey with all the highs and lows that she encountered as she changed her lifestyle to incorporate fitness.Â
Whatever your reason is to start your fitness journey, understand that change is difficult. It comes with hard and awkward moments, but over time the small goals become habits that lead to the lifestyle you desire.Â
One goal you can set today is finding a fitness friend or group that will hold you accountable. Maximum Intensity Training (MIT) offers a variety of individual or group, in-person at the gym or virtual fitness classes.Â
Nothing will happen until you get over your fear and start moving!
